How to Add Funds to 3DS and Wii U Accounts
If you’ve been enjoying a game on the 3DS or Wii U, then it’s time to spend some money. The eShop is closing on schedule, so it’s a good idea to stock up before it goes away.
One way to add funds to your 3DS is through the use of credit cards and gift cards. However, these options are set to expire by March 2023.
Credit Cards
As of May 23rd, 2022, gamers will no longer be able to add funds to their 3DS and Wii U accounts using credit cards. This move is part of Nintendo’s gradual phasing out of support for these consoles in the marketplace.
While credit card support will be disabled, gamers can still use other methods to purchase games and software for the 3DS and Wii U. One option is to link a Nintendo Network ID wallet to your Nintendo Account.
If you do this, you can still add funds to your Nintendo 3DS or Wii U account via the eShop. However, if you aren’t in Japan, this method won’t work and you will need to find another way to make purchases.
To add funds to your 3DS or Wii U account, you’ll need to sign in with your Nintendo Network ID (NNID) and then select “Add Funds” near the bottom of the page. This will prompt you to merge your NNID and Nintendo account balances together so that the funds appear in both the 3DS and Wii U eShops.
This process should take a few minutes and will only be available for those in the US, but it’s an easy way to buy digital content from the eShop for your 3DS or Wii U. Once you’ve done this, you can start browsing for games and putting them on your console.
In addition to enabling you to purchase items from the eShop, 3DS authentication also protects your card from identity theft. As a result, many banks have made it a priority to implement the latest 3DS authentication protocols for their consumers, while some even use it as a security feature.
For example, Wells Fargo has added a new option for its cardholders to receive a one-time code when completing 3DS-authenticated transactions. The company also uses a proprietary product called ProtectBuy to support the technology on its consumer and small-business credit cards.
Although the 3DS authentication process is more complex than it used to be, most credit card networks have implemented the technology on a global scale. It’s an important step in reducing fraud and chargebacks and improving the experience for users and merchants.
PayPal
PayPal is a service that allows you to pay for goods and services online using your bank account or credit card. It’s a great way to save time when you’re shopping for something online and can also be used for international payments. It’s one of the most popular payment methods for businesses, as well as consumers.
The first step is to create a PayPal account. This is free to do and you can use a debit or credit card to link it to your account, allowing PayPal to automatically debit your cards when you make purchases. It’s a quick and easy process and you’ll find that you have access to PayPal even when you’re not using your debit or credit card.
Once you’ve got your PayPal account, you can use it to send money to friends and family or buy things from retailers on the web. The amount of money you send will depend on how much you’ve paid for the item and whether it’s a personal transaction or a business transaction. If it’s a business transaction, there is usually a fee involved, but it is usually lower than the fees charged by other methods of payment.
Another benefit of PayPal is that it offers additional security measures. It uses end-to-end encryption and two-factor authentication to ensure that your payment information is secure. In addition, it offers you the option to set up a payment protection plan in case your card is ever lost or stolen.
You can also add funds to your PayPal balance using a bank transfer, so you can pay for your purchases or send money without having to use your credit or debit card. However, if you choose to add funds directly to your balance, you’ll need to pay a small fee.
Having a PayPal account is an excellent way to make online payments, but you’ll need to be careful about the fees it charges. You can find out more about them here, and be sure to read the terms and conditions of your chosen payment method before you commit to it.
Nintendo eShop Gift Cards
Nintendo eShop Gift Cards are a great way to add funds to your Nintendo account, redeemable on the Nintendo 3DS, Wii U and Switch. When you purchase one of our eShop gift cards, you’ll receive an instant digital code that you can use to instantly download games and content to your device.
You can buy gift cards in a variety of denominations, from $10 up to $100. The code is delivered online as soon as your payment has been processed, and can be redeemed on the Nintendo eShop for any of the 1000s of games available.
If you’re not able to find your eShop prepaid card, you can check with the retailer that sold it for more information on how to locate the code. You can also call Nintendo for assistance.
Alternatively, you can also purchase a gift card from this website and apply it directly to your account in seconds. It’s the perfect gift for anyone who loves to play–including you!
The Nintendo eShop is a popular digital shopping platform for Nintendo Switch, Wii U and 3DS family systems. It’s an easy, fast and safe way to purchase Nintendo games and other content.
However, starting August 29, 2022, the Nintendo eShop will no longer allow users to add funds using eShop gift cards. This change doesn’t mean the end of the eShop altogether, but it will make it much more difficult to add funds to your Nintendo account.
After that date, you’ll need to link your Nintendo Network ID to your Nintendo Account to add money to your eShop account. Once you do this, your eShop balance will be shared between all of your Nintendo devices (Wii U, 3DS and Switch).
If you have any questions about the Nintendo eShop or the eShop Gift Cards, feel free to contact our Customer Support Team. They’ll be happy to help you out!
The best part about these gift cards is that they are a great way to give someone else the freedom to choose what they want to play. Whether they’re new to the game world or a long-time fan, they are sure to enjoy the wide range of options available on the eShop.
Nintendo Network ID
In addition to credit and gift cards, Nintendo also offers eShop funds via the Nintendo Network ID (NNID), used for the Wii U and 3DS eShops. As of August, players can now link their NNID wallets to their Nintendo Account wallets to create shared balances. This will allow them to purchase software on all three platforms until the 3DS and Wii U eShops shut down on March 27, 2023.
You can add eShop funds to your Nintendo Network ID by selecting “Add Funds” from your profile page. Once you have entered a valid payment method, such as a Nintendo eShop Card or a credit or debit card, you can then select the amount of funds you want to add.
Once you have entered the correct information, your eShop funds should appear on your screen immediately. You can then use those funds to buy games or accessories from the eShops on your Wii U, 3DS or Nintendo Switch.
The NNID is the online account that you created to access the Wii U and 3DS eShops, as well as multiplayer functions and system-wide interactions. It can be used to buy and download games from the eShop, as well as participate in My Nintendo loyalty services.
If you do not have an NNID, you can create one for free by visiting the Nintendo Account website. You can then link your NNID to your Nintendo Account by signing in and clicking User info, scrolling down to the Linked accounts section, and clicking Edit.
After logging in, your NNID will be added to the Nintendo Account as well, and you can then link those accounts together by selecting “Merge with 3DS/Wii U” near the option to “Add Funds.” This will combine your eShop funds between your Nintendo Account and NNID wallets, and they’ll be available to use on any of your systems for as long as your NNID and Nintendo Account are linked.
If you’re still having trouble adding funds to your NNID, check that the address for the card or PayPal account you’re using matches the address registered with your Nintendo account. If not, try contacting customer support for help.
